About the Role
Bluefin are working closely with a leading Engineering company based in Loughborough who are looking to strengthen their Electrical Engineering team. They are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who will be responsible for leading the design and documentation of electrical wiring harnesses and other electrical work packages. Working within a multidisciplinary team to achieve work package delivery and meet project plan timings in a fast-paced environment. The role will include using Solidworks Electrical to create electrical schematics, 3D models and manufacturing documents for wiring harnesses and cable assemblies.
Wiring harness designs will be suitable for development level to production level manufacture and will meet relevant auto and aero standards. Mentoring less experienced members of the team is also an expectation of the position.
You will ensure work packages are delivered on time, to a high-quality standard and in line with the commercial, technical and safety requirements.
About You
You will hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or possess a relevant non-degree level qualification alongside suitable industrial experience. Typically, you will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial experience post completion of your degree.
Experience of electrical wiring harness design, preferably with an automotive or aero background.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of Schematic capture and harness design complying to IPC/WHMA-A-620D using Solidworks Electrical.
Experience working with ERP systems (ideally IFS) and knowledge of the control of EMC/EMI.
You will be able to work effectively within multi-disciplinary groups and must be an effective communicator with excellent attention to detail, highly motivated and able to contribute to work packages to achieve on time delivery.
