Electronics Design Engineer



£30,000 – £35,000 a year

We are currently recruiting a Junior Electronics Engineer to join our client’s team of talented and dynamic engineers.

Our client is a startup contract manufacturer looking to double its size of team in the next year.

As an Junior Electronic Engineer you will be working within a team that welcome if you have an idea for an electronics product, you will play an integral part in the design, test and taking a product to market. With the many projects being developed, everyday is different.

This role will suit an engineer looking to expand and test their current skillset and knowledge.

Role Responsibilities
Taking ideas from concept through to production within the framework of the clients Quality Management System.

You will capture technical requirements from customers, estimate time and resource for project delivery, and undertake best practise designing, prototyping and testing designs. These designs will be captured in schematic form and then lay out the printed circuit board working in collaboration with the company’s customer mechanical CAD teams.

Once prototype units are produced you will test, modify and update them to produce fully working designs backed up by test results, appropriate records and design documentation. You will support the units through compliance testing to ensure the end client has a fully working and fully compliant product.

Ideally you will also contribute a level of firmware development for board bring-up and testing typically in C and Python respectively.

Key Skills

  • PCB layout – Altium
  • Hands-on prototyping and test skills.
  • Full Lifecycle Development – Test, Debug, Fault Find.
  • Knowledge of C firmware development.
  • Commercial exposure of product development.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of EMC.
  • Knowledge working within a quality management system (QMS).
  • Embedded firmware development on ARM/ PIC or other microcontrollers.
  • RTOS.
  • Low power radio communications understanding.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary range £30,000-£35,000
  • 3% matched pension
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
  • Salary sacrifice additional 5 days holiday out of gross salary.
